Swindon Town 1974 – 1975 retro football shirt

During the 1970s Swindon changed the badge to what became known as the "ST arrow" or "traffic sign" badge. This was circular badge and had the letters ‘S’ and ‘T’ interlocked, with both ends of the letter ‘S’ being made into an arrow. Also shown was a simple football and the club name.

John Trollope made his debut at the age of 17 for Swindon Town on the 20th August 1960 against Halifax. A consistent left back, Trollope went on a run of 368 consecutive matches which was finally brought to an end in August 1968 when he broke his arm in a match at Hartlepool. John Trollope holds the record for the number of league appearances made for one club – having played 770 games between 1960 and 1980, an achievement which saw him receive the MBE.
