In the 60´s Botafogo (and Santos) dominated Brazilian football and there were no less then 5 players from Botafogo in the World Cup Champion squad of 1962 ( Amarildo, Didi, Garrincha, Nílton Santos e Zagallo), 4 players in 1966 (Gérson, Jairzinho, Manga e Rildo) and 3 players in 1970 ( Jairzinho, Paulo César Caju e Roberto Miranda ), among them arguable Brazil´s most talented player of all time: Garrincha.
