After the split in 1972 and the abandonment of the professional statute for the new Paris Football-Club, PSG restarted in the third division at the Camp des Loges with a group of young players from the training centre. On the 29th October 1972, the club with President Patrelle played the first match against Havre with the new sponsor Montréal. The Montréal supermarkets, which have always contributed in sport and cultural activities in the region of Yvelines, affiliated themselves with PSG and appeared on the red shirt cuffed with blue fabric. Following the split the Club reassured that PSG would continue to wear the historical colours, the ones of Paris: Red and Blue.
